AFCC Informed, Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Ila is a compassionate, client-centered counselor who supports individuals, children, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful, lasting change. She believes that even life’s most difficult experiences can be approached with understanding, hope, and growth when people are supported in a safe and collaborative environment.

She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from Idaho State University and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), licensed to provide therapy in both Idaho and Utah. Her therapeutic work integrates a variety of evidence-based and expressive approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, attachment-based therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and art therapy.

Ila is the published author of Talk Don’t POP, an all-ages mental health book focused on expressing emotions in healthy and constructive ways, and is currently working on a second book centered on understanding trauma responses.

She has experience in private practice, where she provides therapy in a supportive, non-judgmental environment that prioritizes safety, trust, and understanding. She also previously served as the Clinical Director at the DOVE Center of St. George, providing clinical leadership, supervision, and direct services within a trauma-informed setting.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity for healing and growth. She strives to meet clients where they are, offering empathy, respect, and guidance as they work together to strengthen relationships, foster resilience, and create positive, lasting change.

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her adult children, playing with her dogs, reading, being outdoors, and traveling to national parks.
